New Look Coming Soon to Bonanza - Fashion Category Statement by Bill Harding
Monday, August 29, 2011 at 10:19PM
In approximately 1 to 2 weeks Bonanza will have a New Home Page Look. The Hand Pick Lists (HPL) will continue to appear on the Bonanza’s Home Page, but now every Buyer will have the opportunity to select the Bonanza category or categories they are interested in. Then Bonanza will present the Buyer with the products and Sellers that most closely represent their individual needs.
This Home Page Redesign is just in time for the Christmas shoppers. It will better showcase all the categories and unique items now available on Bonanza and will be tailored to the Buyers unique interests. Instead of limiting the Home Page with HPL, which only showcase a small amount of items, products and Sellers.
Now for the Fashion Category Statement…
Bonanza has been listening to the sellers concerns about the possibility of catering exclusively to the Fashion category in the future.
Bill Harding responded to these concerns by stating, “No Way. Bonanza is home to an impressive breadth of categories, with roughly equal proportions of items and sellers across many of our biggest selling categories (collectibles, crafts, jewelry, home and garden, beauty, and yes, fashion). We have focused from day one on building a platform that makes it easy to list items from any of these categories. We will continue to build our presence in search engines, while working to create destination landing pages that show each of our categories in the best possible light.”
Bill explained that the Fashion category is being used as a test bed. Bonanza will test all the shopping improvements being made on the Fashion Category to make sure they work as intended before implementing them across all the categories. Bonanza will continue to introduce new ideas in the marketplace that have never been tried elsewhere.
Bonanza has incorporated key features on the site that include advanced batch editing, inventory importer, item traits and Google Product Search. According to Bill Harding the sales growth in August is on par with the growth from November/December 2010. “In Fact, August has been our highest growth of sales ever for a non-Q4 quarter.”
